making fossil observations

We launched our TFU unit today on Fossils & Dinosaurs! Students began by learning how scientists make observations. Then they observed various fossil images and recorded their observations. It was a challenge to get them to know the difference between making inferences and writing down just pure observations...but their inferences for which dinosaur bone it is or how old it is let's me know how eager they are to learn!
